The Illinois Shakespeare Festival is now accepting applications for Production Staff Positions for its 2012 summer season. Available positions include:
Shop Foreman/Stage Ops Supervisor
Lead Carpenter/Welders
Carpenters
Scenic Artists
Prop Artisans
Cutter/Drapers
First Hands
Stitchers
Costume Craft Technicians
Stage Managers and Assistant Stage Managers
All above positions are paid hourly.
Internships are also available in Scenery, Scenic Art, Props, Lighting, Costumes and Production Assistant areas. All intern positions are full season.
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume with names of three references via email to Dan Browder, Production Manager at ISFstaffing@ilstu.edu no later than March 1st 2012. Applicants are encouraged to apply early as applications will be reviewed as they are received and positions may be filled prior to the March 1st application deadline.
The Festival plays to audiences of over 10,000 every summer and operates under an Actors' Equity Association U/RTA Tier II contract. Illinois State University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
Contract Dates
The Festival technical staffs are typically contracted either for the build period from May 15th until July 19th or for the full season from May 15th until August 14th.
Supervisors are generally asked to arrive a few days earlier. The Illinois Shakespeare Festival employees between 60-75 technicians each summer. The Festival provides housing at a nominal cost.
