Thank you for your interest in the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. The Festival is now entering its 32nd season, producing energetic new interpretations of plays, with the artistry and humanity of the Shakespearean canon as our inspiration and guide. The Festival plays to audiences of over 10,000 every summer and operates under an Actors' Equity Association U/RTA Tier II contract.
The Festival technical staffs are contracted in two ways. The first is for the build period only from mid May until mid July . The other is a full summer contract in which the employee works as a run crew, scenic turnaround, or wardrobe member. The dates for this contract are mid May until mid August. Supervisors are asked to arrive a few days earlier. The Illinois Shakespeare Festival employees between 60-75 talented technicians each summer.
The Festival provides all housing.
